Infused Water

Summer is just around the corner and it is essential to keep hydrated as the temperature rises.  Here are some quick & healthy infusions to quench your thirst this season.

Pomegranate & Lemon

Handful of pomegranate seeds (around 25-30) with 2-3 thin slices of fresh lemon. Put these ingredients in your drinking bottle and let it infuse for 2 hours prior to consumption.

Orange & Mint

Put 4-5 slices of oranges with a twig of mint (6-8 leaves) in your drinking bottle. Let it infuse for 2 hours prior to consumption.  Once the water is infused well, you can discard the orange slices to prevent the water from becoming too sour or bitter. Alternatively, you can remove the peel of the oranges and then add the peeled oranges back to the water for further infusion.

Tulsi& Cardamom

Tear 2-3 pods of cardamom and add 10-12 tulsi leaves along with 1 clove to a litre of boiling water. Take it off from flame and allow it to infuse for 45 minutes. Filter the water and transfer it to your drinking bottle.

Sweet Basil Seeds with Honey & Lemon

 In half a glass of water, add 1 teaspoon of sweet basil seeds (sabja/turkmaria /falooda seeds). Let it sit for 10-12 minutes. In your drinking bottle, add two glasses of water. Add 2 tablespoons of honey and stir well. Add 3 tablespoons of fresh lemon juice to this. Taste and adjust honey and/or lemon as required. After removing the water from the soaked sweet basil seeds, add those seeds to the drink.
